This plain-language overview explains the privacy approach being built into Journey. It will be expanded into the formal privacy policy before public release.

Our privacy principles

Journey is designed to collect information needed for the features you use and to explain how family information is handled. The final policy must reflect the service and its providers as they operate at public release.

Information Journey may handle

Account details such as your email and sign-in records.
Conversations, uploaded documents and photos you choose to provide.
Family details, preferences, memories and tracked events, including sleep, feeding and health records you choose to enter.
Notification preferences and tokens, and technical records used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.

Pregnancy, child health and family circumstances can be sensitive. The app stores conversation history even when optional health personalisation is off. Its in-app notice explains the separate choice to use health and wellbeing details for future personalisation.

Your choices

You can change optional health-support and follow-up preferences in the app. You can review or correct available saved records and use the account page to delete your account. Turning off health personalisation does not erase health information already entered in conversations or records.

Account deletion cannot be undone. It removes the account and associated active app records. Copies may remain temporarily in backups or provider systems; verified retention periods will be added before public release.

Service providers and AI

Journey uses Supabase for sign-in, database, storage and backend functions. To answer messages and process selected content, its backend sends relevant conversation and family context to OpenAI. Optional notifications and local weather may involve additional providers. Processing may occur outside Australia. Provider locations, settings and retention periods are still being verified for the final policy.

Privacy contact details and response timeframes will be published here before public release. For now, testers can use the project’s direct testing contact or the account page for deletion.
